Arts Action Fund

The Arts Action Fund is a 501(c)(4) nonprofit membership organization created by Americans for the Arts, the nation’s leading 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit organization for advancing arts in America. Launched on October 4, 2004, it seeks to engage citizens in education and advocacy in support of the arts and arts education. The Arts Action Fund’s goal is to enlist and mobilize 100,000 citizen activists who will help ensure that arts-friendly public policies are adopted at the federal, state, and local levels, and public and private resources are maximized.

Arts and Business Council, Inc. (ABC)

ABC provides vital services to the community in partnership with the Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs and the private sector. Cultural groups can receive assistance in areas ranging from fund raising, board development, marketing, bookkeeping, legal issues and incorporation/tax exempt status applications. Under ABC's auspices, more than 600 business professionals have donated time and services to the cultural community valued at over $5,000,000, assisting more than 400 arts groups and hundreds of individual artists.

Arts for Learning Miami

Arts for Learning, the Miami affiliate of Young Audiences, Inc. (A4L) is an arts-in-education nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing teaching and learning through the arts and community cultural resources. A4L is a resource and partner to any school or community learning center committed to using the arts to improve teaching and learning in Miami-Dade County
A4L is a three-way partnership among Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs, Miami-Dade County Public Schools and Young Audiences, Inc that brings artists and teachers together to help children learn and excel by offering live arts programs and arts integration services to K-12 schools.
As one of Miami's leading sources of arts-in-education services, A4L provides quality arts-based programs that connect the arts to other core-curriculum subjects to support academic achievement and child development. All A4L programs teach life and communication skills, support literacy and problem solving skills, foster self-discovery, and build self esteem.
Arts for Learning provides comprehensive services that include teacher professional development, multimedia classroom resources, and community arts instruction and programming. These services are delivered to over 13,000 students in more than 100 schools, early learning centers, after-school programs and summer camps throughout Miami-Dade County. The Miami Beach Cultural Arts Council was created to develop, coordinate, and promote performing and visual arts groups by serving as arts advocates before governmental bodies, by coordinating marketing programs, funding nonprofit arts organizations, and promoting international cultural tourism. The Council oversees and administers grants, which are awarded to eligible organizations producing or presenting visual, or performing arts in the City of Miami Beach.

City of Miami Office of Film, Arts, Culture, and Entertainment

As part of the City’s reorganization, Mayor Manny Diaz and the Board of Commissioners created the Office of Film, Arts, Culture, and Entertainment. In June 2002, the Mayor and Commission also created an Arts & Entertainment Council. After nine months of study and a series of public hearings attended by nearly 1,000 citizens, the council has developed a work program designed to support four key objectives:
To seek additional ways to focus the attention of the world on Miami's emergence as a global leader in the visual arts; To build on Miami's role, as designated by Variety Magazine, as one of the top five film and television hubs in the world; To create a strong line-up of top quality, well-produced special events appealing to Miami residents and visitors to our community; And to support the emergence of a vibrant, 24-hour downtown by promoting the development of live music venues and nightclubs. The F.A.C.E Office is to serve as the liaison for the Miami Arts and Entertainment Council as it strives to establish goals and objectives for Miami’s ever growing arts and cultural community. Moreover, the department is responsible for film and special events permitting in our City.

Florida State Division of Historical Resources administers Statewide Education & Folklife Programs, documenting and presenting the folklife, folklore, and folk arts of the state and coordinating a wide range of activities and projects designed to increase the awareness of Floridians and visitors about our traditional culture. The new Office of Cultural and Historical Programs is within the Department of State, and is the state agency responsible for promoting the historical, archaeological, museum, arts, and folk culture resources in Florida. The Director of the Division of Historical Resources serves as Florida's State Historic Preservation Officer (SHPO), providing a liaison with the national historic preservation program conducted by the National Park Service. The Division of Cultural Affairs serves as the designated state arts agency.

Greater Miami Festivals and Events Association, Inc. (GMFEA)

Established in 1985, the Greater Miami Festivals & Events Association (GMFEA) is comprised of South Florida's major annual festivals with the central purpose of promoting the year-round schedule of special events to residents and visitors. The Association's members' efforts result in the production of excellent public celebrations that reflect, express and champion the broad cultural diversity of the area. Currently, the Association's membership totals more than 50 festivals and special events groups, public agencies and institutions, and area businesses, with an aggregate annual attendance to their events in excess of 3.5 million participants. These members represent and are involved in producing a wide-ranging spectrum of community events ranging from major arts, film, literary, culinary and street festivals to parades, fairs, youth sporting competitions, and historic, environmental, national and ethnic awareness celebrations.
