The Board of County Commissioners held its 2nd and final County Budget Hearing yesterday, Thursday, September 17th. At the outset of the budget hearing, Mayor Carlos Gimenez again noted his support for the cultural grants budget, as he did during the 1st Budget Hearing earlier this month.
The Board of County Commissioners approved the budget for the Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs as recommended by Mayor Gimenez. The approved FY 2015-2016 Budget includes funding sufficient to maintain our overall grants budget at current year's levels.
The Cultural Affairs Council, chaired by Adolfo Henriques, recognizes the outstanding work of our cultural community and continues its stalwart support of and advocacy to advance Miami-Dade County's arts organizations and artists.
We are looking forward to another wonderful cultural season!
