Animation Gets Real Miami 2022 is presented by the Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs All Kids Included Initiative in partnership with Arts4All Florida, Arts for Learning/Miami, and Miami-Dade Public Library System, with funding from The Children's Trust.
Explore the exciting world of animation and filmmaking as you learn real life skills, including:
Animation, Writing and Editing, Storyboarding, and iPad Music Making
Who: Students ages 13-22 with autism spectrum disorder and related disabilities who are able to follow instructions, independently communicate and participate in a group setting.
When / Where:
- Beginners: June 13 - 17, 2022 | In-person at: Westchester Regional Library 9445 Coral Way | Miami, FL 33165
- Intermediate/Advanced: June 20 - 24, 2022 | Via Zoom
Hours: Monday - Friday, 9:30 AM - 4:00 PM
Intermediate/Advanced Students will need:
• Access to a computer with a good Wi-Fi connection
• Paper & pencil
• Audio headsets
• iPad with GarageBand and ThumbJam apps installed
Intermediate/Advanced participants will be provided the Toon Boom animation software license, an iTunes gift card for the purchase of ThumbJam, and Zoom login link. A lending program is available on a limited basis for those Intermediate/Advanced students needing to borrow an iPad or laptop.
Program Fee (non-refundable): $100 Miami-Dade County Residents (with proof) * | $400 Non-Residents
* Scholarships available to Miami-Dade residents who qualify for free or reduced lunch, or receive SNAP assistance.
Space is Limited to 30 Participants Per Session! Registrations will be accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis. Submitting a registration form does not guarantee a spot in the program. Priority is given to Miami-Dade County residents.
Only registration forms that are fully completed and submitted with payment in full via PayPal will be accepted for enrollment. Program registration fees are non-refundable.
Registration Deadline: All registration forms must be received by Friday, May 27, 2022. Payment must be made in full via PayPal to secure registration.
To Register: You must complete the registration form by the deadline date and submit payment in full via PayPal for each student participating in the program. Registration confirmations with payment instructions will be sent out by email from Arts for Learning within approximately one-two weeks of submitting registration forms, in the order in which they were received.
