2019 Arts4All Florida Summer Camp for students ages 13-22 with autism and related disabilities


Animation Gets Real Miami is presented by the Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs All Kids Included Initiative in partnership with Miami-Dade Public Library System, Arts4All Florida and Arts for Learning/Miami.

Explore the exciting world of animation and filmmaking as you learn real life skills, including:
Animation, Writing and Editing, Storyboarding, and iPad Music Making

Who:  Students ages 13-22 with autism spectrum disorder and related disabilities who are able to follow instructions, independently communicate and participate in a group setting.

When Where:  
June 10 - 14, 2019:  North Dade Regional Library | 2455 NW 183 ST, Miami, FL 33056
June 17 - 21, 2019:  South Dade Regional Library | 10750 SW 211 ST, Cutler Bay, FL 33189

Daily Schedule: Group 1
9:00 am – 12:00 Noon:  Animation
12:00 Noon – 1:00 pm:  Lunch
1:00 pm – 4:00 pm:  iPad Music

9:00 am – 12:00 Noon:  iPad Music
12:00 Noon – 1:00 pm:  Lunch
1:00 pm – 4:00 pm:  Animation

Program Fee (non-refundable):  $100 Miami-Dade County Residents (with proof) * | $400 Non-Residents
* Scholarships available to Miami-Dade residents who qualify for free or reduced lunch, or receive SNAP assistance.

About the Animation Gets Real Instructors:

Dani Bowman, animator, author and entrepreneur will impart her animation skills while exuding enthusiastic inspiration to students with disabilities.  Dani has ASD, Asperger’s Syndrome Disorder and has been teaching animation for 8 years since she founded her company Powerlight Studios in Los Angeles, CA.

Dr. Clint Randles, Assistant Professor of Music Education at University of South Florida and a Arts4All Florida teaching artist in the Tampa Bay area, teaches iPad music, an innovative musical art form that can be adapted to everyone.  Dr. Randles teaches pre-service music teachers, works with local school districts, and conducts research on the place of creativity in the music curriculum.

Space is Limited to 30 Participants Per Session!  Registrations will be accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis. Submitting a registration form does not guarantee a spot in the program.  Priority is given to Miami-Dade County residents.

Only registration forms that are fully completed and submitted with payment in full will be accepted for enrollment.  Program registration fees are non-refundable.

Registration Deadline:  All registration forms must be received by Friday, May 31, 2019.

To Register: You must complete the registration form below by the deadline date and submit payment in full for each student participating in the program.  Registration confirmations with payment instructions will be sent out by email within one week of submitting registration forms, in the order in which they were received.

All Kids Included (AKI) is an initiative of the Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs, made possible with the support of the Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs and the Cultural Affairs Council, the Miami-Dade County Mayor and Board of County Commissioners, and in part through grant funding provided by The Children’s Trust.  The Children's Trust is a dedicated source of revenue established by voter referendum to improve the lives of children and families in Miami-Dade County by making strategic investments in their future.


If the student qualifies for free or reduced lunch or receives SNAP assistance and you would like to request a camp scholarship, please email proof of eligibility to: Francine Andersen For students enrolled in Miami-Dade County Public Schools, you may send a screen shot of the student information tab found in the student or parent portal. Proof of SNAP assistance is also acceptable.
