The Marketing Manager works closely with the Executive Director to advance department goals in audience development, branding and PR/communications for both MDC Live Arts and the Koubek Center.

  • Creates marketing plans for internal events incorporating a customized mix of print, radio, television, online and outdoor advertising
  • Oversees and generates content for online presence including management of websites and social media outlets
  • Negotiates trade and media sponsorships and places paid advertising buys
  • Manages the creation of promotional materials including brochures, videos, ads, e-mails, flyers, banners and swag
  • Writes press releases and pursues media coverage to promote MDC Live Arts, the Koubek Center and its events
  • Maintains visible presence at all MDC campuses and in the community, through distribution of but not limited to flyers and posters
  • Creates marketing and promotional partnerships with aligned organizations
  • Ensures timely delivery of but not limited to ads, flyers, and e-mails
  • Maintains press clippings as well as photo and video files for each event
  • Creates final marketing settlements for internal events, itemizing expenses and including tear sheets for each event.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Skills / Requirements

  • Masters degree and three (3) years of experience in marketing and communications work; or Bachelors degree and seven (7) years of related experience
  • All educational degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution
  • Knowledge and understanding of College organization, goals and objectives, and policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of best practices in marketing & communications, with an emphasis on online and grassroots marketing
  • Familiarity with the performing arts presenting field and an understanding of Miami's diverse audiences and media outlets
  • Possess strong writing skills, including ability to write marketing copy, press releases and blog entries
  • Possess excellent communication and public speaking skills
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, social media and mass e-mail programs
  • Knowledge of designers, printing vendors, etc. for the production of collateral
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work independently
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks and manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evening and weekend assignments
  • Ability to work well in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment with students, faculty and staff
