George Volsky

Believing that the arts enhance and transform a community, George Volsky spent decades as an active volunteer for our cultural community. He was one of the original members of the Miami-Dade County Cultural Affairs Council; was involved in the creation of the Art in Public Places Trust, of which he was also a member; served as a senior member of the Hispanic Heritage Council; and served on the Vizcaya Museum and Garden Trust. Volsky helped launch the Coral Gables Cultural Affairs Council and organized and directed the Coral Gables Mainly Mozart Festival for many years. He was awarded the Cross of the Order of Merit, the highest decoration Germany bestows on its citizens and foreigners, by the President of the Federal Republic of Germany.
