Janá Sigars-Malina has been a dynamic advocate for the arts and culture in Miami-Dade County. As President of Malina Industrial Properties, she has generously leveraged her business acumen to support major cultural institutions, small arts groups and individual artists. As President of the Miami City Ballet, her remarkable leadership helped raise an impressive $15 million to establish its permanent home on Miami Beach. She strategically
positioned Miami City Ballet as a significant regional economic asset, in addition to the Ballet’s role as a South Florida cultural treasure, fostering its growth and sustainability. Sigars-Malina has also greatly contributed to the Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden, co-chairing its Rare Plant Auction and is an Emeritus Board Member of the Lovewell Institute for the Creative Arts. Sigars-Malina serves as the First Vice Chair of the Miami-Dade County Cultural Affairs Council. Her outstanding work with the Council includes championing the countywide Economic Impact Study, in conjunction with Americans for the Arts in Washington, D.C; launching the Arts Resilient 305 Initiative, resulting in highlighting the work of Miami artists during the Aspen Ideas Conference on Miami Beach (2022, 2023, 2024) and serving as the longtime Chair of the Community Grants Program, that supports developing more than 100 cultural (dance, theater, music, visual arts) programs, that celebrate Miami-Dade County’s cultural community. A former actress and producer, Sigars-Malina remains deeply engaged in Miami’s creative community, ensuring the arts thrive as a vital part of the region’s identity.
