Loretta Dranoff

Born in New York City in 1922, Loretta Dranoff is remembered as a cultural and artistic leader who ignited a global renaissance of two-piano music. She founded the Dranoff International Two Piano Foundation and Competition, introducing young artists from more than 30 countries to the world’s top concert stages. More than half a century ago, Loretta and her husband, Murray Dranoff, launched their career as a two-piano duo. From 1946 to 1973, they performed nearly 70 concerts a year as Steinway and Columbia artists. In 1973, the couple relocated to South Florida. During this time, Loretta worked with the Miami-Dade Public School System to create the first multiple-instrument programs and student recital series. Close friends with Dr. Ruth Greenfield, she regularly performed in Greenfield’s Lunchtime Concert Series, bringing music to downtown Miami at the Miami Dade College Wolfson Campus. Through her efforts, the Dranoff

Foundation continues to inspire and elevate the art of two-piano performance, ensuring that her legacy lives on in every note played.
