Mayor Daniella Levine Cava and the Proposed County Arts and Cultural Budget

Dear Colleagues,

Last night, Miami-Dade County Daniella Levine Cava convened a virtual town meeting about the proposed FY 22-23 budget for the arts and cultural community. Mayor Levine Cava shared the great news that her proposed budget includes increased support for the arts and progressively addresses many other key issues facing our community.

The Mayor asked us to share the presentation from last night’s meeting and it is linked here for your reference. The town meeting was very well-attended and represented the incredible diversity of arts organizations and artists that are making our community one of the most inclusive and dynamic places in the world.

The Mayor also asked us to share the information  linked here  about the upcoming public budget hearings of the Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners. At these hearings, the County Commission will finalize the budget for the coming year after listening to input from the community.

If you are interested in attending, the Mayor’s Office also has provided a  speaker’s guide, linked here,  to help if you wish to speak at the hearings. In addition, flyers in English, Spanish and Haitian Creole are attached if you would like to notify others of this opportunity to get engaged in the budget process.

Finally, we want to emphasize a few important “take aways” from last night’s session:

Thank you again for everything that you do to help make people’s lives better and for the work that you create to put us on the map as an incredibly diverse and exciting place to experience the wonder of the arts.
