Jorge M. Perez Family Foundation and The Miami Foundation

CreARTE Grants Program offers $1.5 million for the arts

Application Deadline May 28

The Jorge M. Pérez Family Foundation's CreARTE Grant Program is now open for applications  until May 28. The Foundation will invest over $1.5 million in Miami-Dade organizations working to cultivate an equitable arts community by expanding residents’ access to the arts and making our city a global hub for artistic excellence.

Through CreARTE, the Foundation will award grants in three main areas of focus:

  • Arts Access: Funding to support meaningful and diverse public engagement with, and access to, various forms of high-quality art across Greater Miami and the integration of the arts into the fabric of community life.
  • Arts Education:Funding to support high-performing, innovative organizations in Greater Miami working to ensure that all young people have equitable access to arts education opportunities. 
  • Artist Fellowships and Residencies: Funding to support the creation and/or expansion of artist fellowship and residency programs to expand local options for artistic professionals to hone their talents and showcase their work.

Shuttered Venue Operators Grant application portal has reopened

Be sure to register on the portal in advance and use the checklist to make sure you have everything you need to complete your application. Review additional resources at sba.gov/svogrant such as the applicant user guide and FAQ. Keep these resources open throughout the application process.

First register on the SVOG portal, then you can begin the application process on the SVOG portal. Every user will be temporarily placed in a virtual waiting room and will be able to start their application in the order in which they arrived.

For technical assistance such as a password reset, browser suggestions, or how to use the multi-factor authentication with an app and the QR code, applicants can call 1-800-659-2955 or, for the deaf and hard-of-hearing 1-800-877-8339 and follow the prompts to SVOG assistance. The call center is now open 24/7.

Grants for Arts Projects

Application Deadline July 8, 2021

Grants support arts projects that use the arts to unite and heal in response to current events; celebrate our creativity and cultural heritage; invite mutual respect for differing beliefs and values; and enrich humanity. Applicants may request cost share/matching grants ranging from $10,000 to $100,000. Designated local arts agencies eligible to subgrant may request from $10,000 to $150,000 for subgranting programs in the Local Arts Agencies discipline. A minimum cost share/match equal to the grant amount is required.

Elevate Prize 2021
Application Deadline May 5, 2021

The Elevate Prize annually awards $5 million in prize funding and services to a radically diverse group of 10 leaders who are tackling the most urgent issues of our time around the world. The Elevate Prize is open to applicants with a demonstrated history of catalyzing social and / or environmental impact through their work and leadership.

Each winner of this year’s Elevate Prize will receive:
Money. A minimum of $300,000 (USD) shared between winners and their nonprofit organizations, so they can collectively drive change.
Amplification. Our strategic marketing and media expertise can take winners to the next level. Be a social impact influencer. Find fans. Build a platform. Think bigger. Do great things. Change the world.

Art in Public Places Opportunities

Light Sculpture for Cybrarium - City of Homestead, FL

Eligibility: Open to professional visual artists based in the USA.

Owner: The City of Homestead, FL

The City of Homestead is pleased to share an open call for proposals from professional artists and/or artist teams to design, engineer, fabricate, permit, deliver and install an original large scale suspended  “LIGHT SCULPTURE”  for a prominent location within the City’s new high-tech “CYBRARIUM” library located in the historic Downtown area. The selected artist will design a unique “LIGHT SCULPTURE” that descends from the ceiling above the main stairway to the mezzanine level to provide the library’s patrons with an outstanding visual experience and create a unique identity for the space. Emails and Notifications Regarding INFORMS

You may have received emails from ISD-VSS3@miamidade.gov with the subject line INFORMS Go Live! or INFORMS Information and might be wondering what it’s all about. INFORMS (INtegrated Financial Resources Management System) is an online platform that integrates Miami-Dade County’s budget, procurement, human resources and financial operations all in one system.

How does this relate to you? If you’re a grantee in ‘Active’ status with the County, INFORMS now allows you to update your records and view payment statuses through the eSupplier Portal at https://supplier.miamidade.gov. The emails you received – one with a username and one with a system generated password – include instructions on how to access the portal and create your own unique password. If you received these emails, be sure to follow the instructions so your account is active and up-to-date.
