Volunteer Guide

Main Page Content

Vizcaya Museum and Gardens is seeking volunteers to lead guided interactive tours for its visitors. An information reception for anyone interested in becoming a Volunteer Guide is taking place on Thursday, February 19, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., in the Courtyard of the Main House. New Volunteer Guides training begins on March 10, for seven weeks. Training will take place on Tuesdays from 10:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. at Vizcaya. Attendance at all seven sessions is required.

Vizcaya’s Volunteer Guides have been offering guided tours to the public since 1954. The 45-minute tours are discussion-based and focus on the merging of European, American and Miami traditions in the Main House and the gardens. The guided tours promote active and social learning, and empower visitors to make meaningful personal connections.

Volunteer Guides will be selected based on an application and interview process during the information reception. RSVP by February 16, to Vizcaya’s Guiding Programs Manager Mark Osterman at mark.osterman@vizcaya.org.
