The Arts & Business Council of Miami is seeking a Deputy Director to become a member of the organizations’s leadership team reporting to the President & CEO to achieve our mission and goals. We are searching for an experienced and dynamic visionary candidate with exceptional and proven leadership skills.

The Arts & Business Council is leading the movement to build a sustainable cultural ecosystem in Miami-Dade County through advancing high-impact partnerships between business, entrepreneurs and the arts. For over 35 years we have been empowering the creative ecosystem by developing programs that are innovative, mutually beneficial and impactful. We are part of the national network of private sector programs for Americans for the Arts. Our 4 person staff of high impact professionals and 20+ part time professionals and consultants, work at the unique intersection of arts and
business. We assist over 500 arts groups through executive consultancies, leadership training, audience development, workshops, forums, curated outreach and networking events. The Miami Herald called us the “arts survival experts” during and after the pandemic.

The Deputy Director is responsible for assisting the President and CEO in planning, directing and implementing operations and activities in support of the mission of the Arts & Business Council and effectively representing the organization's development interests to constituencies, both internal and external, to achieve philanthropic goals and build a case for support. They will be responsible for implementing, overseeing, and assessing the organization's fundraising and outreach strategies and programs.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
▪ Develop short and long-term development strategies and goals with the CEO and board of directors. Regularly meet or surpass fundraising targets.
▪ Lead, oversee, and implement an integrated fundraising plan to achieve income targets across the range of revenue streams.
▪ Establish a leadership role as part of a small, integrated professional team to fulfill the mission and goals of the organization.
▪ Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward a portfolio of current and new funding sources and explore opportunities for additional corporate sponsorships, memberships and donors.
▪ Formulate metrics to measure effectiveness to ensure organizational fundraising benchmarks are attained.
▪ Provide regular analytics to the CEO and board including timely, accurate, and comprehensive budgeting, monitoring, forecasting, and reporting of contributions and department expenses.
▪ Master our current sponsor and member database to cultivate and track fulfillment and benefits. Work with the
CEO to upgrade technology and increase efficiency.
▪ Interact with the Director of Programs & Events to find synergies to monetize and advance prospects.
▪ Collaborate with Director of Digital Marketing to expand visibility and amplify opportunities for sponsors and partners.
▪ Sustain and grow our portfolio of arts marketing partnerships, one of our top programs to help creative and cultural member organizations reach new audiences and grow their brands.
▪ Work with the CEO on strategically vital outreach goals and targeted opportunities. Represent the Arts & Business Council at networking events and meetings for professional associations, chambers and other business and community organizations.
▪ Collaborate on strategic leadership and comprehensive implementation responsibilities.

SKILLS
▪ Demonstrable experience with strategic fundraising that has directly resulted in increased income for nonprofit organizations.
▪ Proven track record of meeting challenging income targets.
▪ Organized and detail-oriented with the skills required for planning and implementing fundraising plans.
▪ Effective oral and written communication skills showing sensitivity to a diversity of people and perspectives.
▪ Experience collaborating with multiple stakeholders including corporate leaders, business professionals, arts professionals and arts enthusiasts.
▪ Collaborative mindset and proven ability to work with a variety of people and environments.
▪ Big picture thinker that can design tactics and outreach to impact our core constituents and stakeholders.
▪ An authentic relationship builder with the ability to think both analytically and creatively.
▪ Highly motivated, self-starter with self-discipline and capacity to work independently with small support staff.
▪ Ability to prioritize and follow through to meet deadlines.
▪ Strategic and creative thinker with innovative vision, and affinity for out-of-the-box thinking.
▪ Proficiency in database and membership tracking software or experience with CRM.

QUALIFICATIONS
▪ 5-plus years in a fundraising or comparable position in a nonprofit organization.
▪ Track record delivering superior fundraising results and assuming leadership roles.
▪ Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with a wide array of stakeholders from the private sector and non-profit communities.
▪ Experience working in the arts, creative ecosystem or related field is a plus.
▪ Bilingual (English/Spanish/French/Creole) is a plus.
▪ Passionate about the Arts & Business Council’s mission and impact.

DETAILS
The salary for this position is up to $70,000 commensurate with experience, plus a benefits package that includes paid
health insurance. There is an opportunity for bonuses and growth in the organization. This is a full-time hybrid position
with a minimum 2 days per week in the office. This is a South Florida based position.
