Nancy Liebman
In 1979, Nancy Liebman became aware that many of Miami Beach's Art Deco historic structures were at serious risk of demolition. This inspired her to join the preservation movement and launch a career as a civic leader, community activist and historic preservationist. She served as a Board Member of the Miami-Dade Heritage Trust Chair of the Historic Preservation Board and Executive Director of Miami Design Preservation League. Nancy Liebman dedicated her life to Miami Beach and was elected as a Miami Beach City Commissioner (1993-2001), where she developed a reputation as a staunch defender of historical preservation and of the arts in general. Nancy Liebman continues to make an impact on Miami Beach. She was appointed again to serve on the Miami Beach Historic Preservation Board (2016-2023). Her devotion to the preservation of Miami Beach's historical architecture has been exemplary and has helped shaped the iconic scene we know as Miami Beach.
