
George Neary
Miami Famous since 1992, George Neary served as Associate Vice President of Cultural Tourism for the Greater Miami Convention and Visitors Bureau (GMCVB) from 1998 to 2018, where he directed award-winning cultural tourism programs. Prior to his tenure at the GMCVB, George was the Executive Director of the Miami Design Preservation League of Miami Beach, working to preserve the historic Art Deco District, better known as South Beach, for seven years. George owns and operates Tours “r” Us, specializing in curated tours of significant historic communities including the Art Deco District on Miami
Beach; MiMo resort architecture; Wynwood; Miami Design District; Little Havana; Little Haiti; Downtown Miami; Historic Overtown; and Coconut Grove. A Member of the City of Miami Beach Sister Cities International Committee, he serves on the boards of Academy of Hospitality & Tourism; All Souls Episcopal Church/Miami Beach; Ancient Spanish Monastery; Dade Heritage Trust; Dance Now! Miami; Design and Architecture High School (DASH); Miami Beach LGBTQ Chamber of Commerce; Miami Beach Visitor and Convention Authority; Miami Beach Gay Pride; Greater Miami Festivals & Events Association; and the National Trust for Historic Preservation. Most recently, in a full circle moment, he is serving as Interim Director of the Miami Design Preservation League. A true cultural champion, George’s sparkling enthusiasm for the arts has helped make Miami a global cultural destination.
