Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs is proud to celebrate National Arts Education Week and recognize the important role the arts play in inspiring creativity, encouraging self-expression and creating opportunities for young people throughout our community.
Through the Arts Education, Access & Engagement programs, the Department is committed to providing accessible, high-quality arts experiences that welcome youth of all abilities. From arts activities in community and park settings to tailored workshops and collaborative programs with local partners, these initiatives help connect young people with opportunities to explore, create and engage with the arts.
Arts education provides young people with more than an opportunity to develop artistic skills. It encourages curiosity, builds confidence, strengthens communication and creates meaningful ways for students to connect with one another and the world around them. By making these experiences accessible to a wide range of participants, the Department works to ensure that the arts remain an engaging and enriching part of life in Miami-Dade County.
During National Arts Education Week, we celebrate the educators, teaching artists, arts administrators, community partners, families and young participants who bring these programs to life. Together, they help foster a community where creativity can thrive and where every student has the opportunity to experience the transformative power of the arts.
The Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs remains committed to championing arts education and expanding access to meaningful cultural experiences for every student and every community across Miami-Dade County.
