A dedicated advocate for arts and culture in Miami-Dade County, Rhoda Levitt is a renowned arts leader, widely recognized for her dedication to enhancing the local cultural scene. Over the years, she was instrumental in supporting numerous arts organizations, including the Coconut Grove Arts Festival and the Miami Jewish Film Festival. She also worked closely with the Arts & Business Council to strengthen connections between the cultural and corporate communities. As a Trustee Emeritus of Miami City Ballet, she played a pivotal role at the debut of Miami City Ballet at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., along with other major events, including performances and engagements with world-class ballet companies such as the Bolshoi Ballet and American Ballet Theatre. Her leadership extended to co-chairing gala events, including a high-profile visit by Princess Caroline of Monaco in support of the Ballet. Her work extended internationally with a cultural exchange to Moscow for its 850th anniversary. Levitt has had a statewide impact on the arts, serving as the Chairman of the State of Florida Arts Council and Secretary of the Florida Theatrical Association. Along with these honors, she worked many years towards the creation of the Arsht Center, serving as Vice President of the Foundation Board. Her exceptional contributions have earned her numerous well-deserved honors, including the Champion of the Arts Award and the Hero in the Arts Award. Levitt has played a pivotal role in shaping the artistic landscape on a local, state, regional, and international level. She has remained deeply engaged in arts advocacy, ensuring that Miami’s cultural scene continues to thrive. Through her unwavering support, leadership, and commitment, Rhoda Levitt has left an enduring impact on the arts and culture of Miami-Dade County.
