Robin Reiter-Faragalli
Robin Reiter-Faragalli began her career in Miami as one of three original employees of the Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs (formerly Arts & Sciences Council), during which she created the C.E.T.A.-funded artists program, employing 28 artists who worked throughout the County on public service cultural projects. She worked to create the tourist bed tax which provided a percentage of funding to cultural organizations. Robin created the Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts program and enlisted the support of the first two volunteers, Richard Milstein and Vance Salter, who spearheaded the effort to recruit additional lawyers. Her work with the Ceramic League of Miami and their efforts with the
Jackson Memorial Hospital Burn Unit, led to one of several national Business in the Arts awards for Southeast Bank. Robin became the Executive Director of the Southeast Banking Corporation Foundation with 20% of the funding supporting the arts, in addition to in-kind contributions, and advocating for the arts at the State level. Her outstanding efforts led to convening the first statewide Cultural Conference in the U.S. in conjunction with the Florida Secretary of State’s Office, with Bob Hosmon and the Rockefeller Foundation, bringing 20 cultural leaders, elected officials and volunteers together for two days of dialogue about the future of the arts. Attended by more than 200 arts enthusiasts, the 2-day Conference sponsored the first private sector statewide survey of corporate support to the arts and the importance of the arts in Florida. Robin served on the founding board of the New World Symphony and was one of the original founding supporters of Miami City Ballet along with Toby Ansin, Edward Villella and Charlie Cinnamon. Robin served as Chair of the State Theatre Board of Florida and on the National Endowment for the Arts Theatre Panel, among her many other activities and accomplishments. She has served on local, state and national boards, and continues to believe in community service. Barry University awarded Robin an Honorary Doctorate for her extraordinary civic involvement. Reiter & Associates, LLC provides advisory services to foundations, individuals and corporations around the U.S. and abroad.
