A true cultural superhero, Rosa Sugrañes has advocated tirelessly, on behalf of the arts community, bringing Miami’s private sector together with local, state and federal elected officials on important cultural issues. Ms. Sugrañes is a distinguished business leader with an extensive record of service across the financial, real estate, technology, and cultural sectors in both the United States and Spain. A native of Barcelona, Spain, and a long-time resident of Miami, Ms. Sugrañes has built a remarkable career spanning entrepreneurship, corporate governance, and civic engagement. Ms. Sugrañes is the Founder and former CEO of Iberia Tiles in Miami. Her savvy leadership in the business community has been widely recognized. She was named Business Person of the Year by the U.S. Small Business Council (1999), received the Best in Business Award from Hispanic Enterprise Magazine (2007), and earned honors such as Florida Women of Achievement (2005) and Successful Hispanic Businesswoman of the Year by CAMACOL (2006). In 2000, she was awarded the prestigious Medalla al Mérito Civil by His Majesty King Juan Carlos I of Spain. Deeply committed to civic and cultural initiatives, Ms. Sugrañes has served as Chairman of the Miami-Dade County Cultural Affairs Council, the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce, and the Knight Foundation Miami Advisory Board. She has served as Chair of the Michael Spring Major Cultural Institutions Grants Program and the International Cultural Partnership Grants Program for the Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs. She was a member of the Board of Trustees at Florida International University, appointed by Governor Jeb Bush, and served as Chairman of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta’s Miami Branch. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of First Horizon (Memphis, TN) and Sabadell Consumer & Finance (Barcelona, Spain). She is currently a member of the International Advisory Board of Baptist Health South Florida and remains active in numerous organizations supporting business, the arts, and community development. For more than three decades, Rosa Sugrañes has generously volunteered her time to help shape a more vibrant and inspiring cultural life for Miami-Dade County through her unwavering commitment to the arts.
