Miami-Dade Arts Support (MAS) Program Guidelines and Workshops Available
Register for the last workshop, August 26th

The new Miami-Dade Arts Support (MAS) Program is wholly funded by the federal CARES Act and aims to provide financial assistance to arts and cultural organizations to help them survive the COVID-19 pandemic. The last mandatory workshop to learn the application and submission process.is next Wednesday, August 26th. Application deadline August 31st. Summer Arts & Science Camp for Kids (SAS-C) Grant Program

Created as a joint initiative of the Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs and The Children’s Trust.  The SAS-C Grants Program is funded by The Children’s Trust, a dedicated source of revenue established by voter referendum to improve the lives of children and families in Miami-Dade County.
The objective of the SAS-C Program is to grant funding to non-profit organizations to provide underserved children in Miami-Dade County with opportunities to attend high quality cultural arts and science summer camp programs at little or no cost.  Funding through the SAS-C Grants Program is intended to augment established, high quality programs, providing more children with the opportunity to participate in cultural arts and science summer camps.

Applicants are required to attend one of the following virtual workshops:
First Time Applicants - October 6, 2020 at 3:00 PM – RSVP
Returning Applicants - October 8, 2020 at 10:30 AM - RSVP

IMLS Museum Grant Opportunities Now Open
Applications Accepted Now Through November 16

Museums across the United States have six opportunities in the coming months to apply for grants from the nation’s primary source of federal museum funding. The Institute of Museum and Library Services is now accepting applications for six grant programs:

Museums for America
Inspire! Grants for Small Museums
Museums Empowered
National Leadership Grants for Museums
Museum Grants for African American History and Culture
Native American/Native Hawaiian Museum Services

Applications for all six programs are due on November 16, 2020. Applicants should review the notices of funding opportunity carefully to understand the program goals, which align with the 2018-2022 IMLS Strategic Plan.

COVID-19 Relief for Artists
Round Two: Apply by next Weds, August 26, 2020

The Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs is activating round two of the Miami-Dade Artists Support! (MÁS!) Program, specifically for artists. The program provides up to a maximum of $500 per artist, available to artists of all disciplines, artist-entrepreneurs and cultural “gig” workers who have been negatively impacted by COVID-19. Knight New Work 2020: Miami applications are open

The Knight New Work 2020 open call is focused on re-imaging the performing arts in ways that echo beyond the pandemic. Are you a Miami-Dade artist or member of an arts organization thinking of applying and have questions about the program? Want tips on submitting an impressive application?

Miami-Dade County Art in Public Places

Amelia Earhart Park & Community Center

Submission deadline: Monday, August 24, 2020, 11:59PM
Budget: $164,000
Eligibility: Open to professional visual artists or artist-led teams based in South Florida

Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs through its Art in Public Places Program and Miami-Dade County Department of Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces (PROS) request qualifications from professional artists and/or artist teams to commission artworks for the new Amelia Earhart Park & Community Center. Design teams include Civica Architecture and Bermello Ajamil Architects. It is envisioned that artworks may reference the flight path, maps, or related imagery compassing of Amelia Earhart’s historic journey around the world. Click here to apply.


Virgin Voyages, Terminal V, PortMiami – South Florida

Submission deadline: Monday, August 24, 2020, 11:59PM
Budget:  $995,000
Eligibility: Open to professional visual artists based in South Florida

Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs through its Art in Public Places Program and Miami-Dade County, PortMiami and Virgin Voyages request qualifications for artists to be considered to make full proposals for the new Terminal V at PortMiami. Opportunities for public art include a large-scale text-based artwork application to exterior north wall, a suspended lighting feature, integrated sculptural wall applications, and free-standing artist designed-planters for the terminal’s interior and exterior. Budget:  $600,000
Eligibility: Open to professional visual artists based in the USA

Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs through its Art in Public Places Program and Miami-Dade County, PortMiami, and Virgin Voyages request qualifications for artists to be considered to make full proposals for the new Terminal V at PortMiami. The selected artist(s) will design a unique video or time-based media artwork and / or display system that will contribute to the identity of this facility and engage employees, visitors, and passers-by in unexpected and delightful ways. Artist Access (ART) Grants Program Applications Open
Deadline September 21, 2020

Funded by Miami-Dade County and offered in partnership with FUNDarte, the Artist Access Grant Program is designed to assist practicing, professional artists in any medium or discipline residing in Miami-Dade County pursue opportunities that will advance their practice and careers in demonstrable ways.

Eligible opportunities include artistic professional development and skill-building, as well as financial offset of equipment purchase and studio rental. Applications will consider how the potential, timeliness, and impact of the opportunities will forward the artist’s career.

Miami Herald - Season of the Arts
Submission Deadline August 27, 2020

This year, the Miami Herald is including both virtual and live offerings in the Best Bets for performances, exhibitions and events between Sept. 27 and Dec. 31, 2020. The special Season of the Arts issue of Tropical Sunday will publish Sept. 27. Full calendars will not be included and will only feature highlights.

To have your group’s events considered, please submit information here. Alternatively, you can also direct your email to the appropriate person based on the discipline, noted below. Please include “Season of the Arts” in the subject line of your email. The deadline is August 27. Submit hi-resolution photos of any of your highlighted productions, please email those to season@miamiherald.com.
