Court Ruling Denying the City’s Request for a Rehearing

On June 3, 2021, the Appellate Division of the Circuit Court of the Eleventh Judicial Circuit denied the City of Miami’s motion for a rehearing, leaving in place its ruling overturning the City of Miami Mayor’s veto of the County’s final historic preservation Certificate of Appropriateness for the Coconut Grove Playhouse project.

The City of Miami Files a Request for a Judicial Rehearing

On April 22, 2021, the City of Miami filed a motion for rehearing the case that the Appellate Division of the Circuit Court of the Eleventh Judicial Circuit ruled in favor of Miami-Dade County. The Court had overturned the City of Miami Mayor’s veto of the County’s final historic preservation Certificate of Appropriateness for the Coconut Grove Playhouse project. The County has filed a response to the City’s latest motion and is awaiting a response from the Court.
